The Role of the Teacher in an Education System

In a world where students come from a variety of backgrounds and show varying paces of learning, it is no surprise that the role of a teacher is so important. Teachers are in a position to shape the future of our nation, while also mentor-ing new teachers and preparing the youth of their generation. Teachers’ impact on society is extensive, but the role of the teacher has always been important.

Until the early 20th century, the concept of teaching was quite different from today’s approach. In the past, teaching was seen as exposing an individual’s perspective to a wide range of people, and thus anyone could take it or leave it depending on their own desires. Today, however, the role of the teacher is more complex and complicated than ever, with stricter requirements than in the past. Teachers, like other members of the faculty, are better at learning than teaching.

As a middleman between parents and children, the role of the teacher is often described as that of a semi-parent. Depending on their age, teachers learn to care for students and always have the best interests of their students in mind. Students may not be close to their teachers, but they often regard them with reverence and treat them as if they were their own children. In this role, the teacher champions the interests of the students and explains the benefits of particular practices.
